2025 Baltimore Ukrainian Festival

This year at the 2025 Baltimore Ukrainian Festival, I’m honored to be performing with not just one, but two incredible ensembles that are close to my heart:

Kazka Ukrainian Folk Ensemble (Lehighton, PA)

For nearly 40 years, Kazka has been a cultural gem of the anthracite coal region of Pennsylvania — preserving the traditions carried by the earliest Ukrainian immigrants who came to America in the 1870s. As such, their repertoire shines with Carpathian character — Hutsul, Boyko, Lemko, and Transcarpathian dances — but also spans across all the regions of Ukraine, from powerful Hopaks to lyrical Central Ukrainian dances and modern commemorative works.

Дух Танцю – Spirit of the Dance (Maryland)

As Artistic Director and Choreographer of Дух Танцю – Spirit of the Dance Ukrainian Folk Ballet, it’s been my mission to create works that tell Ukraine’s story through dance— its struggles, its triumphs, its identity, and its unshakable spirit — blending traditional dances with theatrical storytelling that brings to life defining moments and figures from Ukraine’s cultural journey.

Performing with both of these ensembles in one festival is truly special — a bridge between a storied legacy and a living, evolving Ukrainian dance tradition.
