Event Summary
Join me this summer for a Character Dance class at Misako Ballet Studio, designed for dancers ages 10 and up, including adult dancers.
In the context of ballet training, Character Dance refers to national folk styles adapted for the stage. This class will focus on Ukrainian dance technique, musicality, style, and choreography, giving students the opportunity to explore Ukrainian culture, music, and movement through this vibrant dance tradition.
Throughout the summer, students will develop strength, artistry, and stylistic confidence while learning authentic Ukrainian folk-stage movement vocabulary. Material learned in class will lead toward fall capstone performance opportunities, including appearances at the Baltimore Ukrainian Festival and the St. Matthew Multicultural Festival.
Whether you are expanding your ballet training, preparing for performance, or discovering Ukrainian dance for the first time, I look forward to sharing this exciting tradition with you.
