EXCERPTS FROM A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM

Comedic Ballet in Two Acts based on the play by W. Shakespeare

Choreography: R. Mykyta * Composer: F. Mendelssohn and C. Weber

SUMMARY:
One of Shakespeare’s most beloved and engaging comedies, alongside Felix Mendelssohn’s charming, youthful music makes this a truly magical ballet. In brief, the theme of A Midsummer Night’s Dream internalizes the adage “to everything there is a season.” There are inevitable highs and lows to life that cannot be controlled, but taking the bad with a grain of salt allows one to approach life in good humor and trust that one’s final destiny will indeed be bright.

Excerpts from A Midsummer Night’s Dream include the Lullabye, Nocturne and a pas de deux between Theseus and Hippolytta.
