SYNOPSIS:
A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a comedic ballet inspired by William Shakespeare’s beloved play. Set to music by Felix Mendelssohn and Carl Maria von Weber, the ballet follows intertwined lovers, mischievous fairies, and an enthusiastic troupe of rustic actors whose lives become delightfully entangled during a magical midsummer night.
At the heart of the work lies the restoration of harmony. As love is tested through misunderstanding, enchantment, and comic misadventure, the reconciliation of Oberon and Titania allows both the natural and human worlds to return to balance. Blending humor, romance, and theatrical imagination, the ballet celebrates the changing seasons of life, reminding us that confusion and discord can give way to joy, forgiveness, and renewal.

BACKGROUND & INSPIRATION
MENDELSSOHN’S ENCHANTED SCORE
Felix Mendelssohn began composing the famous overture at just seventeen years old before completing the incidental music later in life. Together with selected music by Carl Maria von Weber, the score creates a magical atmosphere.
LOVE IN EVERY SEASON
Rather than focusing solely on romantic comedy, this choreography explores the idea that life moves through seasons of harmony and discord, ultimately finding renewal through patience, forgiveness, and love.
