RUN TIME:  16 minutes

SYNOPSIS:

Inspired by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov's brilliant orchestral suite, Capriccio Espagnol celebrates the color, vitality, and theatrical flair of Spanish dance. Drawing upon classical ballet technique enriched with Spanish stylistic influences, the choreography reflects the score's dazzling virtuosity, rhythmic energy, and lyrical elegance.

Created as a concert work, the piece highlights the interplay between music and movement through dynamic ensemble patterns, expressive partnering, and vivid theatrical character. Rather than presenting a narrative, the choreography seeks to embody the brilliance, passion, and festive spirit that have made Capriccio Espagnol one of the most beloved orchestral works in the classical repertoire.
