SYNOPSIS:
In the Green Meadow is a choreographic miniature set to a traditional Hutsul folk song for three women. Rooted in the expressive world of the Ukrainian Carpathians, the dance unfolds in a mountain meadow where flirtation, wit, longing, and sorrow mingle freely.
Through the shared movement of three maidens, the choreography reflects the song’s shifting emotional landscape: companionship, teasing, rivalry, desire, and the ache of love that cannot be secured. Buoyant yet touched by melancholy, In the Green Meadow captures the distinctive spirit of Hutsul song, where humor and heartache are held closely together.
