Originally choreographed by Pavlo Virsky, Pleskach takes its name from the Ukrainian verb pleskaty, meaning “to clap.” This adaptation preserves the charm and rhythmic vitality of Virsky’s beloved dance, in which village maidens transform a playful clapping game into bright, musical movement.
