RUN TIME: 4 minutes
SYNOPSIS:
Taras Bulba is a choreographic miniature inspired by the epic imagery of Mykola Hohol’s novel and the 1962 film adaptation scored by Franz Waxman. Drawing on the grandeur of the story’s Cossack world, the work evokes themes of courage, legacy, and national identity.
Rather than retelling the full narrative, the miniature distills its heroic atmosphere into a concentrated theatrical moment. Through bold movement and dramatic musicality, Taras Bulba reflects the force, pride, and mythic scale associated with one of Hohol’s most enduring figures.
